On entering the house, the first impression is one of light and space. Through the high arch in the old stone walls of the lofty entrance hall, light streams from the large south-facing conservatory that is the heart of Quarryfield. The stunning views, often with red kites hovering or swallows arching overhead in the magnificent ever-changing scottish highland light, can all be enjoyed through its glass walls and ceiling - whatever the weather.
The main, open-plan living room with its double-height vaulted and timbered ceiling is furnished for the full house complement of 18. At its southern end and with windows to south, east and west, three sofas and incidental chairs are grouped round the large open fireplace. At the other end, four oak dining tables with their high-backed upholstered chairs can be differently configured according to numbers, and even cleared completely together with other furniture to create a wonderful party room for special occasions.
The kitchen is directly connected to the dining area and equipped to a professional standard.
The conservatory is accessed from the living area through double glass doors, with table tennis at one end and further seating at the other, whilst the large billiard/snooker room (¾-size snooker table) offers yet another soft seating area with plasma TV and DVD.
Three bedrooms are located in the west wing on the ground floor:
Two King-size/twin bedrooms, each with en suite bathroom with twin basins, bath and shower;
and a smaller suite of twin beds with a shower room en suite - ideal for any live-in staff.
